A scene between two characters of mine from my web-comic project, Crustacean War. For context, Mortx is an amnesic trapped inside of an underwater hospital under the supervision of Dr. Charlatan, one of the hospital's most infamous and questionable trauma surgeons. For reasons unknown, information about Mortx's true identity is being withheld from him and further forces him to remain in the hospital, more as a prisoner than a patient. In this scene Mortx questions Charlatan about his suspicions that the doctor knows more than he lets on and Charlatan gives him a wake up call about his current circumstances and what his next plan of action could be if he doesn't even remember one thing about himself. Mortx appears taken aback and can only respond with uncertainty in his voice with questions not directed specifically to anybody but himself. Charlatan relents when he sees how shaken up Mortx is and feels a bit of empathy for Mortx's feelings of abandonment because Charlatan felt the exact same way when he was a POW for months in an enemy camp as evidenced by his framed war medals Mortx holds.
