Mock client assignment where I had to design an anthropomorphic tropical omnivore that operates as a merchant on a deserted island for their 2D animation, Sparkledog Crusaders. The description of the character goes as followed: the character is a castaway who has been stranded on the island for years and holds hope that their shop made of debris and driftwood will eventually become a popular tourist destination. They are a fast talker and a bit of a swindler, peddling abandoned and lost things that wash up on the beach. They should look cute and disarming, but decidedly off-kilter. The design should include a handmade apron and a fancy broken wristwatch. The client asked for a turnaround design of the character, as well as callout spot illustrations of the wristwatch design and sign for their shop.
